In the event that you do not have a wrap, use a towel or a cloth as a barrier to avoid heat or cold burns. We encourage you to limit hot/cold application for no more than 30 minutes at a time (15 minutes for children). My husband is having rotator cuff surgery soon and I purchased 2 different large ice packs, not knowing which would work better. He is a large man with broad shoulders so fit was a concern. I pulled them both out of the package and tried them on his shoulder- the theracool was excellent. Its design with the three chambers allow it to drape down his shoulder -top, front, and back will all receive cold treatment. The weight of it was also good. I put them both in the freezer overnight to check flexibility-again the theracool was much better. It was still completely flexible. The other ice pack was much more firm and I do not think would be as comfortable post surgery. I will be ordering a second theracool to have two on hand to switch out.

I frequently compete in martial arts tournaments and after them get pretty sore. I have tried several different ice packs to help recover from the bruises and sprains and by far this is the best one I have found so far. It retains the cold longer than the others I have tried and is easy to place where needed. Highly recommended.

I am very pleased with this gell filled cold pack. Even though there are no straps, etc. to secure in place, it is pliable and heavy enough to stay where you put it – especially when used on the leg, ankle, foot, arm, shoulder, etc. Placed it in the refrigerator when I first got it. Took a couple of hours to get really cold. My husband suggested to put it in the freezer just to see how stiff and/or cumbersome it got. Much to our surprise, though it did get stiffer, I could still sufficiently maneuver it around with no trouble. Super quality and it works. Can’t ask for more than that!

TheraCool is one of the best ice packs made. I bought two different gel packs to test and TheraCool is tops. The other one had strings coming off of it. And popped a leak. No such trouble with TheraCool. Awesome for anyone needing ice relief from pain.

I truly love this product! I have a lot of lower back pain and this stays cold, is comfortable and large enough to cover the whole area. It folds up nicely and doesn’t take up much room in the freezer. I can finally stop constantly making ice cubes that are uncomfortable and melt too quickly.

I broke my arm in July and have purchased 4 or 5 of these for the 2 homes i have spent time in since then. They are soft and flexible, and the tri-fold construction lets me literally wrap my arm. I can’t believe i used bags of peas for the first two weeks. This is so much sturdier and more effective. You will not be disappointed! The item lays flat in the freezer, taking up very little room.

I actually bought this for my 2 month old puppy in the summer since we didn’t have AC and I loved it. After an hour or two in the freezer, I put it on the floor or in his crate and he immediately fell asleep on it. I like that it’s gel so it’s comfortable and the material is durable so it withstanded a little nibbling from him. It lasts a few hours, depending on how hot the environment is. And the size was perfect.
